Remember Her™
A living installation of women, land and ancestral memory.
Remember Her™ is an evolving fabric art installation exploring women, land, ancestral memory and the things we carry before language.
Created through earth-infused cloth, gathered materials, stitching, pre-linguistic marks and objects of remembrance, the installation invites us into a space of listening.
At its heart is the Divine Lotus Yoni Cushion — a body of textile artworks I first began creating in 2016.
Remember Her™ is not a finished work.
It is a work that continues to gather.
WOMEN · LAND · MEMORY
A body of work exploring women, land, memory and what becomes possible when we begin to remember again.
I am interested in what the body remembers.
What is carried through the women who came before us.
What is held in the land.
What has been silenced, displaced, hidden or forgotten.
What becomes possible when we begin to remember again.
The fabrics are worked with earth, natural materials, thread, mark and hand.
Some marks are deliberate, others emerge through the process.
I am drawn to what exists before language — the gesture, the imprint, the trace.
The cloth becomes a place where memory can gather.
THE DIVINE LOTUS YONI CUSHION
The Divine Lotus Yoni Cushion forms an integral part of Remember Her™.
I created the first cushions in 2016. The first prototype travelled with me to France on pilgrimage to the sacred sites of the Black Madonna. On my return, the work moved into full production.
Each cushion is individually created from gathered and repurposed textiles. No two are the same.
They are artworks that bring the feminine body into the room — not hidden, abstracted or removed, but held openly.
During the Women, Land and Ancestral Knowledge exhibition, I spent many hours at the gallery meeting women and witnessing their responses to the cushions.
Watching women approach, pause, look, touch and sit with the work became part of the installation itself.
The encounter became part of the art.

Here, art is not decoration around the work. Art is the thread that weaves the experience together. Women enter the installation, spend time with the work, and may contribute their own circle of cloth as they move through the spiral.
In this way, Remember Her™ can continue to travel, gather and grow – bridging women’s ancestral journeys across lands.
