Cutting My Flower is a story of transformation. It traces the story of a young woman and how she deals with the difficulty and pain of growing up. From a Muslim background in apartheid South Africa, she finds herself in the grip of many challenges facing her family and her experience as a teenager of female genital cutting. This is also a story of alchemy - of rising like the lotus flower from the muddy waters of life.
